Bills show true colors

A dreadful performance on Sunday. Actually, the defense was pretty solid for most of the game, but the offense was as bad as I had expected pre-season. Who knows why they were successful the first couple games? I'm afeared that what we saw Sunday was closer to the real thing...

Anyhow, in case you missed it, here's a quote from Sports Guy Bill Simmons' column last Friday: "Meanwhile, if you're thinking about taking Buffalo in an upset, check out this e-mail from Nick in Rochester: 'Being a Bills fan is like sending your girlfriend off to be a roommate on "Real World." Before the season starts you have this foolish hope that she won't let you down. However, in the depths of your being, you know that a few weeks from now, you will be sitting on your couch, watching your beloved fumble away her clothes, getting touchdown after touchdown scored on her.'

At least the Yankees clinched the division on Sunday...

Like your use of the word "afeared". Archaic.

Love the letter from Nick in Rochester. Made me laugh.

Meanwhile, the Steelers are being dominated in terms of line-play. The offensive line can't open the holes for running and the defensive line isn't getting the penetration that they are used to.

They didn't lay a finger on Carson Palmer.

I guess that's what you get when you win two Super Bowls. The good draft picks go to other teams, who are able to rebuild.

This is going to be a long year for the Steelers. They will be lucky to win 10 games.

Stillers lost possibly their best player on freak accident in the first game. That type of thing can take the wind out of anybody's sails. Hopefully (and I'm not even a Stillers fan, I just generally like the way they play football), they get it together and at least make a run. But they're definitely going to need a pass rush and will have to develop some sort of rushing attack on the other side of the ball as well. It will be interesting to see what kind of adjustments they can make...speaking of adjustments, it appears the Patriots are already making some...
